Goals and Rationale: The purpose of this project is to evaluate student's knowledge of Mandarin pronunciation, Chinese character development and the key skill sets learned in Lesson One(Greetings) and Lesson Two (Family). This will be done by prioritizing skills and developing questions that will demonstrate those skills. By taking the test that designed by the classmates, students will also familiarize the key learning and challenges in other’s viewpoints. Based on what the students have learned so far, they will design a test paper of ten questions which are worth ten points. Students will use two different techniques when designing the paper, such as multiple choices, true/false, translation, matching, and/or filling in blanks.
Objectives: The purposes of this project are to practice and develop Chinese conversational skills through creative online collaborative writing and live performance. You are encouraged to maximize your imagination to create a skit based on the topic – Dining in a Chinese restaurant. The final product includes both live performance and an online poster on Glogster or Wiki.
Objectives: This 2-minute public speech project is to help students build more confidence in speaking Chinese and prepare them for the next level Chinese study. Students can choose anything as their speech topic.
Objectives: The purposes of this project is to augment student's Chinese speaking ability in a recorded voice mail. Students will incorporate what they have learned from the units like weather, dining, transportation, renting a space, sports and travel and so on to create a "talking slides."
Objectives: To demonstrate your ability in describing a photograph that is selected by the teacher, and relating your presentation to the Chinese culture.
